Beyond the Buzzword: Equipping Takshilah Global School Teachers with Practical SEL Tools for Real-World Classrooms

At Takshilah Global School in Ambur, a team of passionate primary school teachers was ready to move from theory to practice, seeking concrete strategies to manage disruptive behavior and support the diverse emotional needs of their students.

What did we do?

The program was an intensive, hands-on professional development workshop for primary school teachers from Pre-K to Grade 6. We equipped them with a full SEL toolkit, practical frameworks, and invaluable insights to bridge the gap between knowing about SEL and knowing how to implement it effectively. This support included:

• A Practical Toolkit: Teachers were introduced to a toolbox of in-the-moment interventions, including the "Pause, Reset, Respond" framework for de-escalation, energizers to boost classroom energy, and calming techniques to help students regulate.
